For our organizations—and the thousands of employees, students, entrepreneurs and researchers we represent—reliable transportation is not a convenience; it is a fundamental necessity.

If New Haven is to compete on the national and global stage, our organizations must have the infrastructure needed to recruit top talent, sustain global partnerships, and attract the investment capital that allows new ventures to scale. The 21st-century economy rewards regions that build resilient, connected ecosystems. A modern airport is indispensable to that work, enabling growth across New Haven’s most innovative sectors—from life sciences and quantum technology to higher education and healthcare.

Tweed’s recent growth shows what is possible. Having served more than 4 million passengers since 2021, the airport is already driving job creation and new economic activity for our hotels, restaurants, cultural institutions, and innovation ecosystem. Your administration’s support has helped unlock this momentum, and its benefits are felt across the city. But now, with the project at a pivotal moment, we need your leadership more than ever.

Continued uncertainty risks stalling the momentum we have worked hard to build and sends the wrong signal about New Haven’s readiness to compete in the economy of the future. We believe that future belongs here in New Haven.
